Champions League Twenty20, Group A: Kolkata Knight Riders v Titans at Cape Town, Oct 21, 2012
Kolkata Knight Riders won by 99 runs
21 October 2012 - day/night match (20-over match)

3.30pm We're all set for the start. An enthusiastic crowd is cheering the teams on. KKR's openers stride out, the Titans fielders take their places. Mbhalati has the new ball. 'Right-arm over, Play,' says the umpire.

3.15pm There is the threat of rain about folks, so let's hope the weather stays away for the next three hours and a bit. The Titans' seamers might enjoy the cloud cover though.

Rakesh has his seer's hood on: "KKR will score 170+ and the Titans will chase it down in the last over with the game going right down the wire." I'll play along. I'm predicting both wicketkeepers will come out wearing gardening gloves and that 90% of the runs will be byes. We'll soon see who is more clairvoyant.

Ben has this: "Auckland really want Titans to lose both their remaining games." Yes they do, Ben. Even if Titans win their matches, Auckland have a chance of qualifying, but they must rely on Delhi Daredevils losing their final match badly, and will have to win their own last game by a large margin. Their net run rate is poor.

While you wait for the show to begin, check out George Binoy's preview.

Toss The titans have won the toss and they will bowl first

Titans captain van Jaarsveld says the wicket looks a little bit slow, and he expects dew to play a factor in the second innings, so he has spared his bowlers that. Also says his side are wary of KKR who now have nothing to lose.

Gautam Gambhir says he would have bowled first as well and says a victory in itself is motivation for KKR. I guess he has to say something.

Pommie Mbangwa thinks there is a smidgen of grass on the surface, so a par score would be around 150.

Greetings one and all, welcome to our coverage of the Titans' match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Delhi have just defeated the Perth Scorchers, getting themselves ever so close to that semi finals berth, but the Titans will be through for sure if they can defeat KKR here.
