A lanky paceman from Montego Bay in Jamaica, Dwight Washington first began to nudge the selectors during England's tour of the Caribbean in March and April, although it wasn't until the following season, when South Africa came to visit, that he earned his chance at the age of 22. A fixture in the squad throughout the series, he made his debut in the final Test in Antigua. Andrew Miller April 2005
