Good point .. should have dropped Hughes for Maxwell for the only change
Posted by TheLoneStranger on (March 4, 2013, 10:20 GMT)Half of this team is not of test standard! Why was Haddin not selected as a batsman? His form in the Shield has been great! Hopeless selections!
Posted byLook at Praveen Kumar stats http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/player/30732.html and tell me if they are at all bad except for the ODI stats which to me is not his strongest format. I keep seeing Indians bashing the young man when he is one of the best test bowlers India has right now. By you guys standards if Vernon Philander was an Indian he wouldn't have gotten a chance since he is not express pace. Look back at the tapes and tell me if he is not better than 95% of the bowlers you guys are promoting.
Posted by balajeev on (March 3, 2013, 20:55 GMT)I fear that another Indian win will give Dhoni the opportunity to retain non performers and brush things under the carpet.
Posted by Johnny_Rook on (March 3, 2013, 17:12 GMT)It is indeed a blunder. I have no clue how Doherty is better than Lyon. He bowled (and batted) with a lot of heart and was not at all bad. @Anoop Balachandran. I also agree Ishant should not be in the team. But who would replace him. Aaron, Umesh are injured. Irfan Pathan, Sreesanth, RP Singh, Zaheer, Munaf PAtel, Praveen Kumar, Ashk Dinda all had bad performance and got the boot, Shami Ahmad is just too much like Bhuvi. Dhawal Kulkarni and other Ranji Trophy performers are just too military medium to be a threat to Australia which Ishant Sharma can be. So the problem is not Ishant Sharma. Problem is that there is nobody to replace him despite of his bad perfromances. I personally feel Ishant Sharma can be a good bowler if only he can pitch it up a bit and give the ball a chance to swing.
Posted by perfectmisfit on (March 3, 2013, 17:01 GMT)The interviewer seems more interested in talking and asking super long questions, summarizing the entire day rather than asking short, meaningful questions..horrible meaningless interview!
Posted by Hiteshvara on (March 3, 2013, 16:53 GMT)I wanted to hear Dravid's analysis of the day's play but in the end the interviewer was summarizing the events and didnt allow rahul to fully express his views..slightly disappointed..
Posted byCompletely agree with Murli.
Please add a 'like/recommend' option so I don't need to write a separate comment.
Posted byDravid is so biased that he cannot say anything negative against his former colleagues. Ishant Sharma is still in the team. We should pick people based on performance and not on "potential" and "history"
Posted by DrPrashant on (March 3, 2013, 16:29 GMT)I totally agree with Murli here. Please keep the questions short and let RAHUL speak!!
