Yes he has got a lot to prove, however he now has the confidence to go with and from here on Dhoni will pick him in the 11. The squad for SA will need Zak back for an experienced player to spearhead the pace department.

There is no reason to be so pessimistic. He has pace and that's the truth; he can swing it both ways that's lethal. Even the best batsmen will have trouble with this combination, as long as the pitch is not flat and as unresponsive as the fabled " ice maiden". So I say to my pessimist friends: let's savour the moment and wish this young man even greater success.

@Gregory Bean..did you see Shami's bowling against Aussies in the recent ODI series..did you see how many times he ad knocked the stumps off in the limited opportunities he got...he has to developed and groomed further..nobody is saying he is might not to fail..but he has the potential to be a strike bowler for India.
