Pakistan cricket needed a certain direction. The problem with Pakistan cricket has been indiscipline and the PCB finally decided enough was enough and they have made the call. Fining players is fine, it is always done in cricket but banning players for misdemeanour and indiscipline is a little shocking. I don't know how the fans will react; I don't know how the PCB will react after the fans put them under pressure but they have taken a call.

Everyone felt that indiscipline and infighting bogged Pakistan down during the Australian tour and they lost their focus on the game. I am quite satisfied with the fines but I am not to happy with the bans. That is a little too over the top. As far as the PCB is concerned their real job is to stand by the decision because we have seen them wilt at time under pressure and pressure will certainly be created from different quarters: the fans, the critics and the government, since politics is now very much involved with cricket. It remains to be seen whether they can sustain this.

[But] I think Pakistan cricket will be severely jolted at the Test level because Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan were the heartbeat of the Test team. Pakistan have got some serious series' to follow: they play Australia and England in England and then South Africa so it is obviously impossible to replace the talent of these two cricketers overnight. Talent-wise, Pakistan will be tested because I don't see any young, good upcoming batsmen to replace the likes of Yousuf and Younis.

It also means that the PCB will announce a new captain. Some are fighting for Shahid Afridi's cause and some are looking at Abdul Razzaq because I think he is tailor-made for Twenty20 cricket. He has proven himself over a period of time and we have seen that he brings energy and enthusiasm to the dressing room. So I hope Afridi is made the captain. He has paid the price for ball-tampering - he has been heavily criticised and heavily fined. But it remains to be seen whether he concentrate on the job and deliver for Pakistan because he has been under lot of stress and pressure of late.

One does not need to think. The people who have made this decision are just Board appointees and they also never thought what will happen when the decision will be made what will be the results. The so-called legal expert seems to be the most simplistic and says that legally the Board is protected. The Board will lose this case big time in the court-and all the next series and the world cup. What will the Board do to get out of that when that happens and its not going to be far off!!!

Players does not created within days. It takes time to develope. I am big fan fo Shahid Afridi. how much it is possible give respect to him. I don't think you would find any player of his caliber in near future. Now what the hell is that PCB is doing ban to these players. Shame on PCB. If you can not give respect then don't disgrace our heroes. Players power is not new thing it is present throughout the world. At the end I salute to SHAHID AFRIDI. May he play lot of cricket for pakistan. Umar Farooq.

PCB is making other cricket boards around the world (& ICC) look positively competent. Younis has been banned for what? Team management refusing to send him to Aus after MoYo requested he be called up!

It is nice to hear Ramiz's cultured voice saying that the PCB has 'gone a bit over the top'. I too feel that there may have been no need to remove two major pillars of Pakistan cricket for not performing upto expectations. Besides, expectations apart, Pakistan were realistically not expected to beat Australia even in its depleted team because the matches were being played in Australia. If the punishment has been meted out for indiscpline and causing dissension in the ranks then I think the punishment is indeed justified if there was only a fine on the two Ys. Lifetime ban is quite unjustified for all the service they have put in for Pakistan cricket.I hope that some judicial forum sets aside this obviouly disproportionate punishment. Pakistan cricket does need a shake up I know. Perhaps the message will have gone home with the present turmoil to the Aamers and the Umars that merely looking for money in translation of their talents could be disastrous without committment.

Who is PCB accountable too,,, nobody perhaps as their is no Government in reality in Pakistan, now we are all sure that is true. What indiscipline are they talking off,,does PCB follow any discipline. may I ask. Nobody in our sports journalists are asking any questions that is wrong with Pakistan cricket. They have now totally destroyed the cricket team where are our excellent sports journalists of Pakistan, they will wake up when the new kids that will be sent to world cup and too England to play Australia will be totally wiped away completely in all matches.

Self appointed committee by the Board President, biased decision based on wrong motives, wrong and contradictory statements by the board about the bans, no definitive proof what was the wrong doing by the players. No explanation of what the players actually did wrong. Moreover no public announcement of what the players actually did wrong. Let me tell you legally the Board is bound to lose this case against the players and eventually they cannot save their own skin for which these bans have been issued. The Board was totally responsible for the loses, you cannot blame the foot soldiers for a defeat in strategy and bad decision to appoint the worst captain in the history of Pakistan-Mohammad Yosuf by the Board`s own bad decisions.

The most stupid decision that will be taken to court!! They will lose this case in the courts as this has no legal fall back. How can you ban a player when they are just speaking about each other in press. This Board was responsible for all the defeats and is trying to hide behind the so-called accusations which are totally unfounded and over-exaggerated. They are simply trying to shift the blame on lower level of management as happens in organizations without accountability. They have the power that is why they will seem to be winning in the short-run but in the long run they will lose very bigggggg!!!! A fool like Rameez Raja who is gloating about this action that will ruin Pakistan cricket how evil this action is and it cannot save the present Board or the President (even in the short run)who think that their skins can be saved by diverting attention from their own previous failures in Australia!!!!!!!!!

yes MR RAJA you or right about the talent but what about the Pakistan cricket these player care about themselves but not for 160million ppl of Pakistan in Australia we lost having all these players in team australia didnt beat us on talent they beat us caz of these players attitude towards the country and the game of cricket yeah i know we might not be able to defend the title in westindies and get trashed by aus and eng in england but i think we r ready to take that chance for future well being of pak cricket .long live Pakistan .

Its about time that pakistan made this decision. Players have to realize that they are playing for Pakistan not for themselves. All the money and fame they made was because of Pakistan and they have to play 110% all the time. And as you said younis and yousuf are the heartbeat of test cricket, well i have not seen yousuf and younis doing anything good in past couple years. If you are top class batsman you must perform if not in every match you play then atlest in every second but they haven't so good decision PCB. Plesae stand by the decision and don't let them play.

Pakistan Cricket should not be allowed to play international cricket. They are an indisciplined country and the players. They have no discipline at all. ICC should cut them off from playing international. Andy
