Profile

Richard Beckett made nine known appearances in major or first-class matches for the MCC between 1804 and 1807. He was killed while serving with the Coldstream Guards during the closing stages of the Battle of Talavera in 1809 and thus has the unfortunate distinction of being the first first-class player to be killed in battle.
