Rod Eddington played a handful of matches for Oxford University (where he was a Rhodes scholar) as a left-arm spinner and lower middle-order batsman but never really came close to winning a Blue. He was appointed chairman of Ansett in 1997 and took over as chairman of British Airways in 2000 where he stayed until 2005. He was knighted in 2005 but as an Australia citizen, this was only an honorary award.
