A doctor, Edward Litteljohn was an amateur batsman who played for Middlesex intermittently between 1900 and 1914. His best seasons came late - in both 1910 and 1911 he passed 400 runs and scored all five of his first-class hundreds came after 1910. His best score of 141* was made when opening against Hampshire - he was also captaining the side, as he occasionally did in the absence of Pelham Warner.
