Kenneth Desmond Smith, who died on May 31, 1998, aged 76, was a batsman who played regularly for Leicestershire in 1950 and 1951. He made an unbeaten 70 at Northampton in 1950. His sons David (also K. D.) and Paul both played for Warwickshire.
