Profile

Haroon Lorgat was appointed as the third CEO of the ICC in April 2008, after his countryman Imtiaz Patel turned down the offer. Lorgat was an allounder for Eastern Province and Transvaal and managed 2,813 runs and 191 wickets in his first-class career. After his retirement he served the board in different capacities, most notably as national selector from 2001 to 2003 and chairing that panel from 2004 to 2007. He announced in November 2011 that he would not seek an extension of his term with the ICC at its conclusion the following June. In July 2012, he was named special advisor by Sri Lanka Cricket, with a view to help them revamp their domestic structure and cricket administration in the country, for a period of three months.
