George Sharpe was a member of Toronto CC and he played in the first four USA v Canada internationals between 1844 and 1846 averaging 10.42 - an excellent record for the time - with a top score of 31. After a 13-year gap, by which time he must have been well into his forties, he reappeared in two games - 1859 and 1860 - batting low down the order and not making any real impression.
