Hokkaido is a batting allrounder from the the northeastern state of Nagaland, a region not known for producing cricketers. He moved to Kolkata to further his career, and he currently plays league cricket there with Dalhousie Athletic Club. He was among several reserve players in the Kolkata Knight Riders IPL franchise, though not among the contracted players.
