This 25 year old medium pacer has played for India a lot more than her critics would like. Playing predominantly for Indian Railways in the domestic competition, Renu Margrate has made the second medium pacer's slot her own. Her regular selection in the Indian team has been controversial on more than one occasion. Although she does not generate enough pace to be classified as fast medium, Renu Margrate often puts in a bit of extra effort and surprises batswomen. Her bowling action, although fairly standard, is best described as jerky. Batting in the late middle order, Renu has the ability to give the ball a good thump. However it is on very few occasions that she has spent enough time at the crease to make a difference.
Renu is a more than useful fielder and is usually seen patrolling the boundaries
from where her powerful throws deter many batswomen from stealing extra runs.
