One of the elder members of the West Zone side, Arati Vaidya has opened for India in the past. Having made two trips abroad - one to England and the other to New Zealand representing the Indian team, Arati has now been picked as part of the probables list for the forthcoming CricInfo Women's World Cup in New Zealand. A compact left hander, Arati will turn 30 in July has had some fitness trouble in the recent past. Based in Mumbai right now, she plays her cricket for West Zone. In the past she has played for other teams including North Zone. Arati rolls her arm over bowling off spinners very occasionally and can can be spotted fielding inside the 30 yard circle.
