That Thomas Moore played first-class cricket only came to light some 140 years after the event when research showed that he had taken part in a match between a World XI and Surrey at the MCG in 1861-62. Moore played for Emerald Hill from the mid 1850s through to the early 1860s as an aggressive but unreliable batsman.
