Profile

A middle-order batsman, Sid Beton played his club cricket for Shepherd's Bush and as a professional for Middlesex between 1932 and 1928. In 32 matches he never passed fifty and, even though renowned as the best cover point in London, took only seven catches. At club level he was one of the best batsmen of his generation, however, and scored a hundred hundreds, including 235 against Ealing in 1926.
