England were eliminated after another anxious performance left coach Peter Moores conceding they had "let people down". But it was a memorable night for the jubilant Bangladeshis, who repeated their win over England at the 2011 World Cup in Chittagong to reach the quarter-finals for the first time. While Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim rescued Bangladesh from 99 for four with a stand of 141 (a national record for any wicket in the World Cup), England buckled. Bell grew inhibited after the needless run-out of Ali: in the same Rubel Hossain over, he nibbled behind, and Morgan pulled to long leg for his fifth duck in 11 one-day international innings. From 163 for six Buttler and Woakes put on 75 in ten overs - only for Buttler to undo the good work with a tentative waft. Next ball, with 38 needed from 25, Jordan fell to the tightest of calls: having thought better of a non-existent single, he dived back into his ground, but third umpire Simon Fry somehow ruled that the shoulder of his bat had bounced up as Shakib Al Hasan hit the stumps. There was still time for Tamim Iqbal to drop a sitter off Woakes at long-on, before Rubel - the quickest seamer on show - completed the job by bowling Broad and Anderson. It had all started brightly for England, as Anderson struck in each of his first two overs. But Mahmudullah chose the right balls to attack on his way to Bangladesh's first World Cup century, and the nuggety Mushfiqur chipped in, helping his side to their highest one-day total against England.
