Herschelle Gibbs will learn on Thursday whether he will be available for selection for South Africa's two Test matches against Zimbabwe in September.

Gibbs was one of six members of the South Africa squad fined R10 000 each for smoking marijuana in Antigua during the just-completed tour of the Caribbean, but in his case his indiscretion may cause a three-match suspended sentence to kick into effect.

Last April Gibbs had the suspended sentence passed down on him after being caught out late at night the evening before a one-day international against Australia.

The United Cricket Board's Disciplinary Committee has discussed Gibbs' case and decided to convene a Disciplinary Hearing on Thursday, June 7, to be attended by Gibbs. Advocate Michael Kuper SC will preside over the hearing.
