Boeta Dippenaar and Charl Langeveldt have been released from the South African one-day squad, trimming an overloaded 15-man party down to a more manageable 13 ahead of the final of the Standard Bank One-Day Series at Kingsmead on Friday.
With Gary Kirsten back in form and Nantie Hayward making an impressive return to the national side at Newlands on Monday, it seems unlikely that either Dippenaar or Langeveldt would come into contention for the final and they have been freed to play for their provinces at the weekend.
It is also possible that a further player may be released to play for his province, bringing the squad for Durban down to 12. In this case the most likely candidate would be Justin Kemp. Lance Klusener was rested on Monday, but is almost certain to reclaim his place in the side for the final.
Two changes have been made to the President's XI to play India in Chatsworth next week with Alfonso Thomas of North West and David Terbrugge of Gauteng coming in for the injured Albie Morkel and Victor Mpitsang.
The President's XI will be coached by Hylton Ackerman and Raymond Booi.
