Travis Head will no longer be representing Yorkshire in this summer's NatWest T20 Blast competition due to international commitments.

Head has been called up by Australia A for their forthcoming tour of South Africa from mid-July to early August.

The left-handed batsman has been named in both squads, and he will captain Australia A in the one-day tri series with the A sides of South Africa and India.

Yorklshire are currently assessing their options in terms of an overseas replacement to join Peter Handscomb in the Yorkshire ranks.

This is the second blow for a county in 24 hours: Andrew Tye, another Australian, pulled out of Gloucestershire's NatWest Blast squad on Thursday because of a shoulder complaint.

Don't pick Aussie. Their batsman are over rated and the bowlers get injured too easily. Just some players with some real class. Get some Bangladeshis in. Shakib Islam is worth a punt as he proved with Worcs

Yorkshire most certainly DO need a second overseas player. If we ere at full strngth for the T20 tournement then we'd be OK, but as England are likely to continue to take five Yorkshire player and possibly Ballance as well, a second overseas is essential if we are to compete, especially with counties such as Middlesex and Hampshire who are turning county cricket into a farce.

Yorkies don't need a 2nd overseas player. Their English talent alone is very good, best to ride the waves with them. Besides, they have Handscomb who has been very good so far. I know you're allowed two (for NatWest Blast) but you should only bring those who are going to add value.

All of which explains why Hants have so many. They need them all so poor is their home stock. Just look at their performances last season, they were technically relegated in the Championship. Therefore, we should be more understanding of their desperation to survive this season. You can't produce local talent overnight, it takes years. While Hants are obligated to start that process ASAP, as far as this season goes, they needed immediate remedy.

Coming back to the Tykes, I suppose Handscomb is more a red ball cricketer, not known for T20 exploits and they feel they need a specialist, like Travis Head, who is known for clearing the ropes.

Ashton Turner or Jake Lehmann would both be great options.

Hants have got six born overseas in their team against Essex today

RR Rossouw, GJ Bailey*, SM Ervine, KJ Abbott, GK Berg, FH Edwards,

Interestingly enough not one of the remaining five were born in Hampshire

Judging by the state of these 3 counties with all their overseas stars , I don't think any of these 'stars' would add anything to Yorkshire's team.

Maybe Yorkshire can borrow one of Hants, Glamorgan or Sussexs overseas players , they must have about 20 or more between them!
