Reactions - from 'cannot believe' to 'no sympathy whatsoever'

Support for the banned cricketer poured in from around the cricketing world

As news broke about Shakib Al Hasan's two-year ban (one year suspended) from all cricket, support - as well as outrage - poured in from around the cricketing world.
ODI captain Mashrafe Mortaza wrote a post in Bengali on his Facebook page: "Definitely I will have some sleepless nights seeing the recent incidents of my comrade of 13 years. But I can also sleep in peace soon knowing fully well that he will lead us to the 2023 World Cup final. Because the name is Shakib Al Hasan".
There were other colleagues expressing their anguish too.
Not just Bangladeshis, former cricketers from elsewhere also took note of the development, but not with the same degree of sympathy for Shakib.
