Ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, here is a basic outline of the facilities available to media at the three venues.
1. Media Centre
All venues will have a Media Centre containing at least three PCs with internet connections. These will be available to media for filing copy from floppy discs, but cannot be used for direct inputting of copy or match reports.
These computers will provide access to the tournament Media Information System, which is accessible to all accredited media via a unique password.
There will also be printing and fax facilities.
2. Working desks for print media
Desks in the main media press box at all three venues are equipped with power and have access to phone lines if they have been booked in advance. Please note that advance booking is essential, see later for full details.
UK media with pre-booked phone lines for international cricket will be able to use those existing facilities at Edgbaston and the Oval for all matches up to and including 18 September.
Seating priority will be given to working media from the nations whose teams are participating in the match in question. This means that for the match between India and Pakistan on 19 September at Edgbaston, both semi-finals (21 and 22 September) and the final (25 September), there is no guarantee that UK media will be able to sit at their existing positions. Alternate facilities are available for filing in these instances.
The facility at the Rose Bowl is a temporary structure and UK or international media seeking to file from their seats will have to book a line through BT.
To book a telephone line in advance contact BT:
Tel: 0800 672205
Email: business.centre@bt.com
For overseas media who don't have UK accounts: 0800 400400
Reservation and payment for telephone lines is a media responsibility. Please ensure you are comfortable with arrangements and facilities for filing copy before attending matches.
Press boxes and media facilities will be open on the day before every game and on match days will be operational from 08.00 to 20.00.
3. Photographers
All photographers will be required to sign-in and collect a photographers' bib on arrival at the venue.
There will be map of photographers' positions at all venues, photographers other than the official tournament photographer will not be allowed on the pitch before or during play.
NOTE: Media will not be able to install a phone line at any of the venues on match day.
4. Press conferences
There will be a press conference with the captains of both teams at the venue the day before match day.
Details of the timing and location of these press conferences will be advised ahead of each match.
There will also be a post-match press conference after every match with the captains and the man of the match, these will take place approximately 20 minutes after the end of play.
5. Media Information System (MIS)
Accredited media for the ICC Champions Trophy will be issued a password for the Media Information System (MIS). The MIS forms an integral part of the media communications for the tournament and vital information will be posted here.
Passwords will be distributed over the next 48 hours. Media who do not receive and/or misplace their password should contact Robin Abrahams at robin.abrahams@wisdengroup.com (07971 548 440).
