A fortnight ago, Rashid hit the headlines when he took 6 for 67 on his first-class debut for Yorkshire. Today, he grabbed another six wickets to go with the two he took last night as India squandered the good position they had batted themselves into. Resuming on 230 for 3, they lost wickets consistently and even a though the last two pairs added 64, England still gained a 20-run lead. Rashid took 6 for 69 on the day.
Varun Chopra, who was England's other first-innings century-maker, again blunted the Indian attack and neared his second hundred of the match as England reached 190 for 2 at the close, a lead of 210.
