The Mashonaland Eagles beat the Matabeleland Tuskers by four wickets with four deliveries remaining in Bulawayo. A poor batting performance from the Tuskers was the reason for defeat.
They just didn't get enough on the board. Once Admire Manyumwa struck twice up the order, there were just two more half-centuries as Mark Mbofana weighed in with 4 for 20 in seven overs. Terrence Duffin, after a run of poor performances, hit 53 off 65 balls before he was stumped by Regis Chakabva. Dion Ebrahim made 59 from 87 and Keegan Meth 51, but a target of 229 was easy enough to chase.
The Eagles openers Alois Tichana (10) and Tafadzwa Mufambisi (38) added 47 as the chase began. Tichana was the first to go, caught by Ebrahim off Keith Debangwa, after which John Nyumbu dismissed Ryan Butterworth. The captain Greg Lamb's 67 from 63 balls, and a seventh-wicket stand of 39 with Manyumba helped the Eagles home.
