Michael Vaughan, the former England cricket captain, is expected to be confirmed as a celebrity contestant in this year's Strictly Come Dancing.
Vaughan was coy about his involvement in the BBC's top-rated light-entertainment show, tweeting: "BTW I can't dance... although at 3am after a shed full I produce some proper shapes."
Vaughan, if confirmed, will attempt to become the third cricketer to win the show, following the former England internationals Darren Gough and Mark Ramprakash, who both proved adept at ballroom dancing in front of a peak-time TV audience.
Vaughan, whose cricket career ended in retirement three years ago, has since been involved in a wide range of activities including the media, a player agency and various commercial tie-ups.

@A_Yorkshire_Lad: Channel 5 obviously can't pay very much, either
Posted by A_Yorkshire_Lad on (June 22, 2012, 12:54 GMT)Commenting on TMS can't pay very much , then , and I think Sky is already chocka with ex-England captains - oh dear...
Posted by R_U_4_REAL_NICK on (June 21, 2012, 15:58 GMT)That's cool! He'd better not wear the same 'concrete shoes' he seemed to be wearing last time I saw him batting at Lords against Australia's Glen McGrath...
Posted by MiddlePeg on (June 21, 2012, 11:05 GMT)Don't do it Vaughany. Have some dignity...
Posted by MattB1976 on (June 21, 2012, 10:27 GMT)This is not strictly correct. Chris Hollins was a first class cricketer, and won SCD. Thus Michael is attempting to become the FOURTH cricketer to win the show.
