Scorecard
England Women extended their unbeaten run in T20s to 16 matches with a comfortable seven-wicket win over Pakistan at Loughborough after reducing the visitors to 87 for 7.
Pakistan decided to bat first but Anya Shrubsole reduced them to 23 for 3 on her way to figures of 4 for 12 from her four overs. Nain Abidi tried to steady the innings with a 31-ball 21 but she was run out after two further cheap wickets had fallen. Marina Iqbal eventually got some impetus into the innings with three fours in her late 19 from 12 balls.
But the target was swallowed up by England who won with 25 balls to spare. They had an early wobble when Qanita Jalil removed both openers but Sarah Taylor and Arran Brindle both made 31 to steer England home easily.
"It was a solid start from the team today for what is a really important period for us," player of the match Shrubsole said. "It was a good performance and we'll be looking to build on that tomorrow, sharpen up a little in the field and look for the one and two percent that we can improve.
"I was really happy with how I performed today, having missed the series against India it was good to get back out there and put in a good performance."
