The West Indies' upcoming One-Day tours are unlikely to be broadcast in the region.

Speaking on Tuesday night on the radio programme Best And Mason, Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) production manager Gary Allen painted a dull picture for the upcoming tri-nation series in Singapore, the Toronto Cricket Festival in Canada, and trips to Sharjah and Bangladesh.

Television and radio of the Singapore series will not happen, Allen said.

The final aspect attempted was to get a highlights package available but member stations said they could not afford it at such (short) notice.

The games are, however, available on TV6 in Trinidad and Tobago, which Allen said went out and did their own arrangement.

The tour was downplayed and never given any high-profile status, he added.

There was not any build-up notice and information kind of seeped out. It was never in the budgeting of member stations.

The Bangladesh matter was even more difficult. According to Allen, the CBU could not even gain access to the holder of the rights for the competition.

It is worth noting that with Bangladesh it was so dubious. We have not been able to find the rights, he said.

The CBU tried every avenue to get information on the matter but there was no response to the correspondence, he said.

For the September 9-21 Toronto series, Allen said notice was first received on August 24 and rights were currently available for both radio and television.

We are trying to make sense of the numbers, Allen said, adding that a decision could be reached by the end of the week.
