Islamabad, Feb 23: Sri Lanka's prolific and in-form batsman Marvan Atapattu underwent medical check-up on his lower-back at the National Institute of Health (NIH) on Wednesday.
The batsman, who had blasted Pakistani bowlers in the one-day series and the warm-up matches, had complained of stiffness in the lower back. The right-handed Atapattu had half-hour batting practice during lunch-break on second day of the three-dayer with Chaminda Vaas, Muttiah Muralitharan and Pramodya Wickremasinghe.
Skipper Sanath Jayasuriya, however, played down Atapattu's injury saying it was nothing serious. "It was all a precautionary exercise. He will be alright before the Test," he said.
