Victorian Cricket Association
July 12, 2000
The Victorian Cricket Association in conjunction with the Footscray Cricket Club, today proudly announced the official return of Colin "Funky" Miller to Victorian cricket for the 2000/2001 cricket season.
Miller returns to his home state following a successful transfer from the Tasmanian Cricket Association. Initially leaving Victoria for South Australia in 1988, Colin Miller has since risen to become an integral member of the Australian Test Cricket team.
Victoria's General Manager of Cricket Operations Shaun Graf, said Miller's return would be a huge boost for the Bushrangers. "We are extremely excited to welcome a person of Colin's calibre into our group. His record speaks for itself and we expect him to significantly improve our bowling stocks, in particular spin."
A unique player and character, Colin Miller is regarded as one of world cricket's most versatile players. Today's media opportunity comes three days after his return from a three-month expedition throughout Europe, Africa and South America.
