West Indies win toss and field

The West Indies won the toss and elected to field against Sri Lanka in the second preliminary round match of the ICC KnockOut 2000 tournament at the Nairobi Gymkhana Club club on Tuesday.

The West Indians will be without captain Jimmy Adams who has a torn intercostal muscle. Sherwin Campbell will captain the side.

West Indies: Sherwin Campbell (capt), Courtney Browne, Brian Lara. Wavell Hinds, Sylvester Joseph, Marlon Samuels, Laurie Williams, Mahendra Nagamootoo, Nixon McLean, Mervyn Dillon, Kerry Jeremy. 12th man: Azeelmul Haniff.

Sri Lanka: Sanath Jayasuriya (capt), Marvan Attapattu, Aviska Gunawardena, Mahela Jayawardena, Kumar Sangakarra, Russell Arnold, Chaminda Vaas, Nuwan Zoysa, Romesh Kaluwitharana, Pramodya Wikramasinghe, Muttiah Muralitharan. 12th man: Upul Chandana.
