The last two hours of the Cardif test was so nail biting, I chewed off my nail and it started bleeding, this was similar to to another ashes match when some body chewed of their umbrella handle!

The first test at Cardiff was an absolute thriller. If there's a bit more swing at the Lord's pitch, England can destroy Australia. The recent test series between Australia and SA in SA was very ordinary. Australia won the series 2-1 because they won all 3 tosses. And yet they lost by an innings in the third test. If they hadn't won all the tosses, they would have been whitewashed 3-0 by SA.

David Lloyd, that test had an exciting finish with 4 days of dullness in between. Like you said you haven't had time to catch your breath. Have a cold drink, remove your patriotic glasses and look at how poorly the home team performed. Sure it had an exciting end but the rest was hardly inspiring. England were smashed from day 2 onwards, and somehow held off to scrape in for a draw. At the end of the day its simply prolonging the inevitable defeat at the hands of a far more determined Australia who will maintain the ashes easily. That pitch was a disgrace and offered nothing for the bowlers in either team. If England weren't such a poor a batting side it would have been the worst ashes opener ever. If you want to see some good cricket, pick up the recent series between South Africa and Australia in SA. It had pitches with a bit of life giving the bowlers a little help. If you made runs your earned them! I would say its the best series I've seen in the last 15 years.
