This obsession with character is totally misguided and made up thought . Pakistan players lack endurance, technical skill to bat out in tough situations. Afridi was right in admitting that they need batting coach. It is tough to digest that younis khan, Misbah and Afridi lack character. If anybody looks at there dismissals, it is all about not coping up with the situation , inadequate skill to last pot boiling match.
Posted by xylo on (March 31, 2011, 22:36 GMT)To me, the one big thing that did not work in favor of Pakistan was lack of cricket at home. When was the last time that Pakistan played in front of such a vociferous crowd? That clearly showed on the field with all those mixed catches. With a little bit of trimming and addition, they should be in very good shape for WC 2015.
Posted by AbdulHanan on (March 31, 2011, 19:07 GMT)I think they lost the match because of decisions not taken timely. Afridi didnt use Razaq in midle overs and kept on trying Umar Gul. If some one go to analysis of Razzaqs performance and Afridis behavior with Razzaq, one can easily understood some malice Afridi has towards Razzq. He wants to ruin Razzaq. I request someone in PCB should mediate in order to save a match winner and talented player. I amy add that If u ignore a player like razzaq, he will not give under%. u have to use the player accordingly.
Posted byExactly... I was SCREAMING WHEN THEY didn't take the powerplay earlier ! But i dont think its misbah's fault.. its just fielding and Batting powerplay, if power play was taken earlier, even misbah would have batted quickly...
Posted byAs an Indian, I thought the Pakistanis lost the match more than India won the match. Of course India's fielding and bowling was tremendous. Very few extras and many great saves on the field. But both Ramiz and Imran's post-match comments were right on. They were accurate as to what went wrong with Pakistan. Top 3 reasons:
1. Misbah 2. Tendulkar catches 3. Batting powerplay delay
