A very good summary of what was one of the greatest game

Posted by Ali_Eorse on (April 3, 2011, 14:37 GMT)

What a rubbish summary. What about Sreesanth? What a waste. What about Sehwag. What a waste. India won due to luck. Mahela was the best batsman in the final. Malinga was the best bowler in the final. Dilshan was the best fielder in the final. SL was the right team to win. So sad. So very sad.

Harsha well said and well compiled video!!!!!!!! Yes indeed India are the worthy victors. But they didn't demolish their opponents in the group stages nor in the knock out stages. They worked out of ticklish & difficult situation on their way to ultimate glory and finally lived up the tage of "Favourites". To know that the final hurdle was crossed by two batsmen, Gambhir & Dhoni, who didn't have that good a tournament, emphasised Dhoni's statement before the final "India have not yet peaked up to their potential. That they had a wonderful support, led by a gentleman called Gary Kirsten, who did his job almost staying in the background and never taking the centre stage was indeed the best part of this tournament win. Will the Indian cricket team get such a support staff ever in the future????? This is going to be the million dollar question that will be asked and very difficult to find an answer.

Nice briefing! It has been a wonderful show by the Indian team. A very promising young brigade and a deserving winning medal for the God of cricket himself ! Winning the final while chasing and even after losing the likes of Sehwag n Sachin early was like the icing on the cake! Certainly among the proudest moments in the life of every Indian cricket fan ! Thanks the Men in Blue !

Awesome victory. A great innings by Dhoni to take Indian across the finish line. If I could flaw Dhoni. I think he should have let the great Sachin Tendulkar receive the World Cup. It would have been a fitting finale to the champion Gricketer's Wolrd Cup Journey.
