This series if the rain doesn't play spoiler should produce some interesting bowling. with that being said a lot will depend on Edwards , Bravo & Shiv on the batting front & i strongly doubt the 3 of them will be able to produce enough runs to make England bat twice
Posted by Erebus26 on (May 2, 2012, 12:45 GMT)The panellists were very dismissive about the Windies chances to the extent that I want the Windies to surprise a few people. They were complimentary about the bowling attack although surprisingly dismissive of Shillingford. Can't believe they would want to see Bishoo ahead of him based on current form!?! The batting has come in for some stick - they had little regard for Edwards and Bravo who have impressed and were even nitpicky towards Shiv who has a good record against England. I understand their thoughts that this is a Windies 'B' team but I struggle to see where Pollard and Bravo would fit in with Sammy in the side as the all-round option. They were spot about the Windies board and Gibson however, but I didn't agree with their thoughts on Gayle. I think the panel are barking if they think Gayle isn't an improvement on Barath and Powell (who will most likely open in the test matches).
Posted by Nathaniel45 on (May 2, 2012, 8:50 GMT)Really interesting discussion. Although I wonder why Darren Bravo's potential was not discussed? He looked on the verge of a massive score against Australia on several occasions against Australia. Will be a really interesting test for him. Roach will shine as well I feel but the lack of Gayle and Sarwan means Windies just don't have enough experience. I agree that Gayle has caused problems but I think he is actually in the form of his life and West Indies should take advantage of that. Hoping Bravo shines. Could make him as a player. Good luck to the Windies.
Posted byPlay bishoo instead of shillingford? seriously? Bishoo has had an appalling season so far. What is it about shane that is so hard to figure out that he is if not the best, one of the best bowlers in the caribbean?
