i still saw a lot of positives when they batted out the second innings, the shots have definitely improved and the confidence levels high! nasir jamshed got out by himself, by his own aggression and younus was a bit late to leave the ball. i dont think they have failed miserably in the second innings, it was the ireparable damage done in the first innings which took its toll and the number of days SA left. remember they were facing a couple of very efficient bowlers who were having a few of their best days on the field. so instead of raising the alarm, the fans should have patted at least the batsmen for a much improved performance in the second innings.
Pakistan failed to do their homework before they set foot in South Africa they must surely have worked out that South Africa were going to give them a seam attack and mostly outswing bowling, A lot of the shots the Pakistani batsmen were geting out were deliveries that could have been left alone.Good batsmen do not take their one day game into Test cricket. There were far too many one day shots played by the Pakistani batsmen and as for Saeed Ajmal that was one of his worst games he bowled too many overs around the wicket and bowled too short.
i cant see pakistan coming back in this series unless they improve dramatically or south africa play very bad.i agree with ramiz bring in imran farhat at the top . the new ball is very important for pakistan to bat better. younis khan will have to get runs as is mohammed hafeez. mohammed irfan has to be on this team . the reason given for him not playing is a disaster .hope to see a better performance next test .

Pakistan could have bowled SA under 150 on day one had Rahat was not the weakness. Irfan only needs to bowl 5 hours spell in every session.

Posted by mazdonal on (February 4, 2013, 21:10 GMT)Mohammed Irfan is not a fit young man. He is actually too tall for Test cricket. He has repeatedly proved that he can't stoop quickly enough to field the ball and so many times it has gone clean through his feet and hands. His fielding is an embarrassment. He should look at Morne Morkel and other very tall players and how they do it. It is not clear how he can stand up to the rigours of Test Match bowling, many overs and many spells. It would help if he was a better batsman too. Picking him on the basis of how quick he can be for two or three overs is not enough.

Posted byPak need experience in the middle order without its very fragile there must be scrutiny over the players as consistent fail players kick out of the side as there is no shortage of exceptional talent in domestic cricket.Playing on bouncy pitches is still remain an unsolve issue why we are paying huge sum to the coaches what dwm is doing just siting n filling his note book. Pak players also have to think that test cricket needs time and stamina at the moment our players completely do the opposite they waste more balls in odi than test.
