@Kahn- N UAE is Pakistan's backyard, my friend. The pitches are similar, most of the supporters Pakistanis, and the conditions are not too different.

@Protears, An average of 28 by no means is outstanding . The last time South Africa toured Australia, Steyn averaged 30 for the test series. Nothing special there. And the reason why South Africa won was because of their team effort. He is lethal in him home conditions but outside his performances vary. And how can Peter Kirsten compare this unit with the great Windies? Philander has hardly played outside South Africa, while Abbot and Kleinveldt are very new. Morkel is very good but still nowhere near the Windies of 80's. Too early for a comparison. Dismantling a team famous for its poor batting at green top wickets is nothing out of this world, to say the least. They have so far proven that they have the potential but still a long way to go.

@Cricket_Man, Dale Steyn in Australia. 6 matches, 30 wickets, 2 5fers, 10fer at 28.03....yup he is certainly not good in Australia. Need I have to bring up two series wins both he was instrumental in.

@aarshad, My friend, for your kind information Pakistan did not play in their backyard since 2009 and they have beaten Australia (1-1 in ENG), England (1 test in ENG & 3 tests in UAE), New Zealand (1-0 in NZ), West Indies (1-1 in WI) and Sri Lanka (1-0 in UAE).

India has superior batting line than Pakistan but they also faced two whitewashes against Australia & England in away series.

@Protears, Here is a little newsflash for you. Steyn didn't perform in Australia and since quality bowlers perform anywhere in the world, Steyn not performing in Australia make him a mediocre bowler, right? Steyn is good but nowhere near any of the West Indian bowler of 80's.

Oh my God. Too big a comment to compare the current SA bowling unit with the great Windies bowling lineup of the 80's. Those guys performed all over the world and were literally great. The current SA line up is bowling against a weak batting lineup on a fast bowler friendly wicket. Supporting your country is one thing, being delusional is another. What Mr. Kirsten could have said was that "these guys have the potential to be great". These SA bowlers haven't been tested on pitches of Sri Lanka, India and Dubai. If they perform there, then only such a comment could have been justified.

@Dhumper, did you not remember Pakistan had to twice save a match in the last series in the UAE with Ajmal completely ineffective in that series. Here is a little newsflash for you. Quality seamers are dangerous anywhere in the world and since you don't have any you are not going to be successful.

@Dhumper. You are delusional, like Mohammad Hafeez and PCB. This Pakistani cricket team doesn't have the capability or the strength of discipline to beat any test side except Bangladesh and Zimbabwe outside their own backyard. They are scared of fast bowling, and barring Younis Khan, none of the batsmen has the technique or the temperament to play test cricket.

Totally disagree - we almost beat you in your own backyard in the 2nd test despite one big selection error! It's about home advantage..when SA comes to Pak (UAE) in Sep, the trend will be likely to reverse! Not much difference in top 3-4 sides in the current rankings.
