i'm intense follower of cricket and i watch all the build ups to the match, especially in IPL build ups have been funny and also very insightful from gr8 players's like kapil dev and Gavaskar, Siddus and Razas are funny. Bhogle's and Manjrekar's are humorous. Cheerleaders have been eye candies, , music is been good too, overall build up has brought a fresh perspective. so i love to watch extra innings of IPL on Sonymax. Cricket in IPL is entertaining at the highest level. where else on the planet u witness Steyn bowling at 150kmph to Gayles and Kohlis in SUPER OVER ?

Most of us are pretty happy that cricinfo gave a job to Kimber. Re. the 'entertainment' factor of the IPL pre-game/post-game shows, I caught a glimpse of the 'cheerleaders dancing to the same annoying music for 10 seconds before each segment' for the first time only yesterday. Calling that tacky is an understatement.

The fact that they are talking about the hoopla is clear indication that it is well worth it. IPL is making cricket more world class in terms of entertainment. The flags, jerseys and cheerleaders were never there in cricket - but were part of NFL, NBA and even some soccer leagues. Sambit Bal is just too identify world-class entertainment. Sure its not "pure" cricket, but who cares; with more color comes more passion, fan frenzy and with it loyalty and therefore better for the game!
