with shane watson the test batsmen the feeling i get is that he hasn't quite figured how best to construct an innings,as if he doesn't quite know how to pace it and hence the consistent- attractive 20's and 30's,he averages 35 in 75 test innings with just two hundreds and a handful of fifties reiterating the fact that there are an awful lot of 20's in there.i am tempted to call him a bowling all rounder only that he isn't doing what his test record suggests he is much better at anymore but his inability to convert those starts into anything substantial even occasionally has been his Achilles heel really.

Haddin can happily be the next Washbrook and Australia will still lose comfortably. The problem is that Australia don't have a young Peter May.
