Bowlers talk up Australia's Ashes chances

Australia bowlers Ryan Harris, Mitchell Starc and James Pattinson talk to the media ahead of the first Investec Ashes Test

I think Harris should play ahead of Siddle, unless Harris succumbs to injury. Playing both would be silly as they are the same kind of bowler. I also think that either Bird or Faulkner should play as a 4th pace bowler, and perhaps even both of them for a 5 man pace attack. I can't see Nathan Lyon being any threat to anyone. Australia's pace is significantly better than England's and is the only area that Australia are ahead. The spin is worse, the keeping is worse and the batting is so much worse that it is not worth worrying about. I say play to the strengths and go in with 5 pace bowlers to crush the heart out of the England batting line up and strangle them.

Siddle, Starc and Pattinson looks a well-balanced pace attack, but in the midst of a UK heatwave, and with it likely to continue hot and dry for at least a week or two, spin could be the deciding factor. With Swann having endless left-handers to bowl to, Starc's footmarks helping him against the right-handers, and dry pitches, I doubt if Swann's ever gone into a series with things so much in his favour.

australia need thier pacers fit & firinng if they have any chances of regaining ashes since batting is weaker , bowling should compensate for that . good challenge for likes of siddle , starc & pattinson .
