Alastair Cook: We upped our standards

England captain Alastair Cook has praised Graham Gooch for the raise in quality in the England batting lineup

Don't know what Cook is on about. Standards from both teams have dropped since the first test match. This time Root survived average bowling and Bell continued where he left off. Lords was a test match of amateurs, and whoever was inform took advantage of it. Also the pitch was dull and boring. Nothing for the bowlers and slow for the batsmen. Just the pace for the old people at Lords to keep up.

Credit to Cook, not overly happy about the win, realizing there are few more games to be played. Englishman to the core!

Hope wisdom prevails in the Australian dressing room to find the solutions to beat the losing conundrum.
