The Ghost of 2003 WC final comes to haunt India again. The only difference is that time Saurav Ganguly had called the toss of coin rightly but blew it up with bowling, this time we were done in by loss of toss.Through out the tournament, Dhoni had talked about keeping things simple but in the end the team forgot the same mantra! It was all about lasting 50 overs ,any total is chasable. The decision of the Board to allow spouses of players at the business end of the tournament is difficult to comprehend. Also ,victories against lesser oppositions gave a false sense of safety, the fact is that we are one of the weakest bowling unit in the world. My suggestion to BCCI is to engage Fannie De Villiers or Glenn McGrath or Craig Mc Dermott or Darren Gough or Shaun Pollock as the next coach of the team to prepare a crack bowling unit, fit enough to face cold ,swinging early summer of 2019 in England for the next world cup where our record is awful in recent years.
