England in India ODI Series - 4th ODI

India v England

India won by 4 wickets (with 16 balls remaining)

Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the fourth ODI between India and England being played at the Nehru Stadium, Kochi.

So far the visitors have failed to make an impact and the home team have notched up a 3-0 lead, they need just one more win to bag the series and it's a do-or-die situation for England.

Three matches and three commendable wins - Indians are at the top of their game and it will take something special from the visitors to force a win here today.

News from the middle is that, England captain Andrew Flintoff has won the toss and elected to bat first.

England have made three changes to the team that played the third ODI, some good news for the fans as Pietersen comes back into the playing eleven replacing Shah, while Hoggard and Batty are in for Plunkett and Mahmood.

India go in with five bowlers and they have made just the one change to the team that played the third ODI, Sreesanth the local-boy gets a game, he comes in replacing Munaf Patel.

Once again India have done well on the field and this time they have restricted England to 237 on a 270 plus track, Indian seamers started off well after Flintoff elected to bat first and soon England were reduced to 2 for 27 in just the 6th over. Collingwood joined Pietersen at the fall of the second wicket and they staged an excellent comeback, they added 90 runs for the third wicket in quick time and England were back on track but Harbhajan picked up the danger-man Pietersen with a well bowled doosra that bounced and from there on the spinners were in total control. Rest of the batsmen struggled and in the end England were bowled out for 237 with 8 balls to spare, Yuvraj and Sehwag picked up two each, Harbhajan, Powar, Sreesanth and Pathan chipped in with one wicket a piece. We will be back with all the live action in about 30 minutes time - be sure to join us then. Welcome back. 238 is a modest target on this track but a couple of early wickets can change things around and that will be precisely what the new ball bowlers will be aiming at - first 10 overs are going to be crucial for both the teams. Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid will open the innings - Anderson with the new ball - here we go!
