Bangladesh v Netherlands ODI Match

Bangladesh v Netherlands

Netherlands won by 6 wickets (with 7 balls remaining)

10.00am Good morning and welcome from all of us here at Cricinfo, to a little drier Titwood in Glasgow, Scotland for the one off ODI match between Bangladesh and the Netherlands. The game between Scotland and Bangladesh was a washout yesterday and some heavy rain in the afternoon might have put this game in jeopardy. However it is dry and overcast just now with an inspection due at 11.00am where both teams will hope they can get some cricket played today.

The covers are off and the wicket is being rolled. There are a few problem areas though, with patches of mud and dirt on the edge of the square and some damper areas further out towards the boundary. The Bangladesh team are out kicking a football about while the Dutch are chilling out in the dressing room waiting for more news.

It's Callum Stewart at the ground today and I will be bringing live ball-by-ball action for you as soon as play gets under way. While your waiting for things to kick off, check out our shiny Facebook page that's full of cool stuff and great banter.

11.10am Well the sun is truely shining now which will help dry out the pitch. The umpires have had a wander around and are still not happy that the pitch is fit for play, and have ordered a further inspection at 12 noon. Things look optimistic for the game to start early this afternoon but we will let you know as soon as a decision has been made.

12.10pm The rain has stayed away for now and the sun is still here. The umpires talk a walk about and have a little chat with the captains. Apologies to keep you all waiting but they have decided to have a further inspection at 1.00pm while the players take an early lunch. The wicket and the outfield look fine, it's just a few muddy patches on the side of the square they don't seem happy with, as the groundstaff prod away at the ground with pitchforks. The cut off for a 20 over game is about 4.00pm but we should be started at about 2.00pm if the sun stays out.

The umpires are just out having a chat in the middle with the groundstaff and some of the team officials. We should have some news shortly.

1.15pm The pitch has dried out to everybodys satisfaction and the umpires have decided we will have a 34 over game starting at 2.00pm. A relief for the Bangladesh crowd and the groundstaff at Titwood as we will finally get some play in Glasgow, barring any more rain.

And just as we bring you the good news, it starts raining outside, ever so lightly. Shouldn't amount to anything though but the sheets are being pulled back on to the square as a precaution.

1.45pm Bad news to report, the rain has got a little heavier now and all the sandbags are going back on to the sheets on the square. Disappointing as it looked like we were going to get a game too. The rain has got too heavy for the players liking as they cease their warm-up games and retreat to the pavilion.

The umpires ominously walk around the square in deep conversation with the groundstaff as the rain continues to fall, there's no wind out there so this rain might just stick about. In fact it's getting heavier now, we will keep you updated as additional covers are being dragged on to protect the run ups.

2.05pm Well the rains off and the sun is back, and the covers and being stripped away from the square too. We're hoping to have the toss in about ten minutes starting with a 30 over game at 2.45pm. This is all assuming no more rain, it's Scotland after all, so don't get your hopes up.

Bags of sawdust being generously applied to all areas of the square, captains just walking out for the toss.

2.20pm The Netherlands have won the toss and will field. We should be started in about 20 minutes time.
