Profile

Sedbergh School founded in 1525 by Roger Lupton, Provost of Eton, is an Independent Co-educational Boarding School. Set in the spectacular Yorkshire Dales National Park, it also benefits from fast motorway and rail access to the rest of the UK. Sedbergh has its own Junior School (4-13) situated at Low Bentham, North Yorkshire.

It is a vibrant, demanding School, with a strong academic tradition. Sedbergh encourages pupils and staff to be involved in as broad a range of activities and interests as possible. Art, Drama and Music are especially strong while the School has a national reputation for Sport. More Rugby Internationals (32) have come from Sedbergh than any other English School. Sedbergh also boasts the oldest living English Test Cricketer - Norman Mitchell-Innes.

Old Boys include Simon Beaufoy (Full Monty), Will Carling, Will Greenwood, James Simpson-Daniel, Lord Bingham (Lord Chief Justice), James Wilby, Sir Jock Slater (First Sea Lord), Sir Christopher Bland (Chairman BT), Robert Napier (Chief Executive WWF and Chairman of Governors).
