From 69 for 5 to 216 - it has been a splendid display of batting from the Sri Lankan middle over. Samaraweera provided the stability and with Mathews put on a 127 run partnership for the 6th wicket which keeps Sri Lanka well in the game.

It is a slow track with low bounce and the outfield is slow as well, given the conditions, 216 is certainly a fighting total and New Zealand will have to bat well if they are to achieve the target.
