Will Bragg enjoyed his most consistent season for Glamorgan in 2016 when a switch to No. 3 contributed to a season in which he passed 1,000 first-class runs for the third time and along the way twice improved his career-best, following 129 on a bitterly cold April day at Derby by taking 161 not out off the Essex attack in Cardiff later in the season. His strides forward began the previous summer when two Championship hundreds - against Leicestershire and Kent - doubled his first-class tally. Regretfully, illness limited his involvement the following summer.

Monmouthshire-born Bragg has developed into an aggressive top order batsman but even after two comparatively successful seasons, by the time he passed his 30th birthday his average had just shaded 30, proof of an inconsistent career. Perhaps surprisingly, he has also not been as effective in one-day cricket as his style of play suggests.

Bragg initially signed terms as Glamorgan's reserve wicketkeeper but dislodging Mark Wallace was impossible so he turned himself into a top-order batsman. It took a while for Bragg to become established and three seasons came and went without a first-class century following his debut in August 2007. His maiden ton in the Championship came against Leicestershire at Colwyn Bay in 2011.
