Leicestershire have announced the signing of Scotland allrounder Richie Berrington on a one-month loan deal.
Berrington has been brought in to add depth to a squad that has seen early season injuries to Will Jefferson, Nathan Buck, Matthew Hoggard and Paul Dixey. The 25-year-old scored 261 runs and took seven wickets for Scotland in the recent ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier and will still be available for the Saltires in their CB40 campaign during the arrangement.
Berrington, who was born in South Africa, averages 29.94 in first-class cricket, with one century, and has taken 18 wickets. The loan arrangement with Leicestershire will be reviewed at the end of the first month.
