Friends Life t20 - 1st semi final

Sussex v Yorkshire

Yorkshire won by 36 runs

Yardy to start the proceedings for Suxxex. Spin first up, Gale facing Yardy.

The pitch looks very good and fit for the day. It is the same pitch that they used yesterday for the One-day match. Exciting game in prospect.

Hello and welcome to the coverage of the first Semi-Final in the Friends Life t20. We go straight to the toss. Yorkshire won the toss and elected to bat.

It is 10 years since the first Twenty20 Cup was staged and how the game has changed since them. Has English cricket kept up with the pace? Probably not. But this should still be a cracking day. Plenty of international talent on show. We start with Yorkshire against Sussex - Prior, Baristow, Root, Bresnan, Nash, Wright, Stryis all on show - and later we'll have Somerset against Hampshire then the final.

At stake is not only the title but also a place in the Champions League Twenty20 and the prospect of a big pay-day that comes with that. The good news us, for now, is that it's a dry morning following the washed out ODI yesterday.

If you want a full preview of the day you can read this, or go back ten years to when it all started with this piece by Martin Williamson.

The pitch looks very good and fit for the day. It is the same pitch that they used yesterday for the One-day match. Exciting game on prospect.
