Friends Life t20, Final: Yorkshire v Hampshire at Cardiff, Aug 25, 2012
Hampshire won by 10 runs
25 August 2012 - night match (20-over match)

Joe Root, as usual, will start the bowling with his offspin

6.40pm A few minutes before the action starts. Out come the umpires and players for the pre-game handshake. Yorkshire have had a five-hour break since their semi. What impact will that have?

6.35pm At the toss Andrew Gale, the Yorkshire captain, admitted he would have batted first as well. Dimitri Mascarenhas had a late fitness test on his shoulder but was never really going to miss this match. "I can't get any slower," he said.

6.25pm The trend during the day has been for the scores to get low. Yorkshire have a very strong batting line-up, but anything over 150 could really test them with Hampshire having an attack well-suited to the surface.

"I think Yorkshire have made a big mistake in leaving out Rashid," says Swanton. "I would have played the leggie in preference to Sidebottom." He's been bowling well in the last couple of weeks. They like Sidebottom's experience, though.

6.15pm Welcome back folks, it's final time as Hampshire take on Yorkshire. Hampshire have won the toss and will bat first. No surprise there with the pitch getting slow and lower. Both teams are unchanged from the semi-final XIs. Andrew and Alan here to bring you the action over the next three hours or so

SM Katich run out 25 (21m 16b 3x4 0x6) SR: 156.25

8pm: So, that wraps up the Hampshire effort on a round 150. That seems to be about the par score on this wicket - but Yorkshire are the one side to go beyond it today. With the likes of Bairstow, Miller and Ballance in the side, they've got the gunpowder but they'll be up against Dimi and his master dobbers. Gnasher will back for the start of the chase in 15 minutes, so until then I'll leave you with this, from Geoff, aka "Mr Smiley" of t'North: "Err, cheeky. I'm smiling. From one normally grumpy Yorkshire supporter." Are you sure it isn't wind?
