13.2 to KC Brathwaite, there's the breakthrough! Will that fire Steyn up? Back of a length outside off, Brathwaite pushes hard at it off the back foot and the thick edge flies low to gully who takes a smart catch. He's been keen to feel bat on ball all morning.. 30/1
85.2 to D Ramdin, there's the breakthrough! Steyn's the man, late in the day. It's a full, straight delivery. Ramdin is early on the shot, perhaps aiming too much leg side, the ball straightened a touch on him and lobs a catch back to Steyn. 266/6
94.1 to J Blackwood, he's struck! Look pretty straight first up. Full, on the stumps, Blackwood falling across slightly. He calls for the review but more out of hope than expectation, I think. Unless he's hit it. Which he hasn't. Smashing leg stump full on. Three reds. Another West Indies batsman falls between 43 and, now, 56.. 299/7
96.3 to JO Holder, he's given it away, poor stroke! Short of a length, lures him into a pull, he's nowhere near in control and it just goes straight up in the air and lands safely in the hands of mid-on. 316/8
1927303.848312001
19.518324.188112011
97.1 to JE Taylor, and strikes first ball! Another cross-batted hoick, a short-of-a-length delivery and Taylor plays something crossed between a pull and hook, gets it off the top part of the bat and it flies down to long leg who judges the catch very well. 319/9
99.5 to SJ Benn, and that's that...the full delivery does the job, Benn's weight on the back foot as he goes for the drive and he lobs a catch which carries low to mid-off. Neatly held, coming forward, by Bavuma. Morkel earns some reward.. 329/10
2657132.7312010000
26.6 to DS Smith, done him! A maiden Test wicket. Last ball before lunch. It was a touch shorter, he went back to cut but it was too close to off stump and it slides under the bottom edge to take the bails. After all that hard work he's given it away. A bit of a brain fade from Smith. Offspin does for him again. Joy for Harmer.. 80/2
38.3 to LR Johnson, wider on the crease, flatter ball that skids on and plumb lbw! Johnson caught on the crease and falls, deceived by the angle and perhaps a change of pace, it was slight quicker and skidded past the inside edge into the front pad low down and would have taken out middle and leg no doubt about it, umpire's finger was up almost before Harmer could turn around. 131/3
56.1 to S Chanderpaul, full down the leg side, Chanderpaul falls over it and is smartly stumped! Another for Harmer and a big breakthrough. Chanderpaul totally overbalancing trying to flick this into the leg side and de Villiers took it well before whipping off the bails, no needed for the third umpire. 172/5
821311.62381000
51.1 to MN Samuels, first ball! Would you believe it?! Well, I guess you would with the way Samuels sometimes bats. It was a floaty, wide delivery, Samuels couldn't resist and reached out for the drive but couldn't keep the ball down and found cover. A first Test wicket for van Zyl, the second of the day. 162/4

119.5 to SR Harmer, finger went up very quickly and this time there's no review. Playing across the line of a length delivery, it didn't do much. Struck him fairly high and that would have gone over the stumps! So South Africa have missed that. Reiffel the umpire, for those keeping notes. 404/8
1726413.76703037
86.5 to T Bavuma, done it! The probing line pays off. Full outside off, Bavuma wasn't sure whether to play and leave and in the end deflects the ball into his stumps as he tries to withdraw the bat. 288/5
2448723.6210712012
11.5 to D Elgar, close, and given! What a moment to break through, if it stands. And Elgar declines the review. Holder straightened his line, much closer to off stump, continued in with the angle and Elgar had come right across his stumps and gets hit in front of middle and off. Yep, that was smashing middle about two-thirds up.. 48/1
75.1 to HM Amla, and it's worked! Change of ball does the trick, and the short delay in play. Lovely delivery, pitched around off stump just short of a length, straightens off the seam and Amla gets a healthy outside edge to the keeper.. 254/4
16.406824.08688100
108.2 to S van Zyl, well, he's made the breakthrough! That's why he's bowling, although van Zyl has used a review again. Was trapped on the back foot as the ball went straight on, but has stuck him high on the back leg. Not far for the ball to travel. No inside edge. It's shaving the bails, so the decision will stand. The strike bowler has struck.. 384/6
122.4 to AB de Villiers, down the pitch, but it hasn't got the legs...tried to clear long on, got too far underneath the ball and found more height than distance. Long on steadies under the ball, although it popped out on the first grab but it fell down by his chest and he kept his cool. 421/10
45911512.552029100
49.1 to F du Plessis, floated up well outside off, du Plessis charges after it, misses completely and is comprehensively stumped. That's a touch silly from Faf. Benn tossed it a fraction wider when he sensed the batsman coming at him but du Plessis still played a nasty hack at it, missed by a long distance and was a good half-yard out of his ground when Ramdin took the ball and whipped off the bails. 157/3

71.6 to J Blackwood, full delivery, shapes away a little and bowled him! Steyn strikes with a lovely ball, angled in before seaming away a little and takes out middle and off stumps. Blackwood playing across it a little trying to go with the angle but when it straightened he was done for. 202/5
73.1 to D Ramdin, and another! He's on fire. Yes, South Africa sense the moment. Wasn't his best ball, was swinging into the pads but Ramdin couldn't keep it down and it's well caught by van Zyl coming forward just in front of square leg. 204/6
77.4 to SJ Benn, that's the edge! Only a matter of time. Prodding outside off at a full ball without any footwork and a thin nick is found. 213/9
1642701.68811000
1471821.28742000
10.6 to DS Smith, the breakthrough for South Africa, and it's Morkel! Not his best ball, but it won't matter to him in the slightest. This angles into the pads, Smith plays at it, trying to turn the ball into the leg side, and it appears to glance the glove through to de Villiers who takes a good catch low to his right. 23/1
36.5 to LR Johnson, tad shorter, leaves the left-hander who follows it and nicks it to slip! Bounced a little and took the edge of the splice of the bat for a simple catch to Amla at first slip. On reflection, Johnson will think he should have left it but it was a tricky line and he tried to just knock it down on the off side but the bounce did for him. 95/3
2478243.411069200
13.5 to KC Brathwaite, what a gem! Brilliant start by Harmer. Top-class spin bowling. This one spins back from spins back from outside off but still beats Brathwaite on the outside edge to take off stump. Playing off the back foot and he was in a poor position. 27/2
64.5 to MN Samuels, down again, lifts it down the ground but finds mid-on! The pressure was really on, 28 balls for just four for Samuels and he's cracked, trying to go big down the ground, didn't get the elevation and is taken by mid-on running a few yards to his left. 182/4
76.3 to JO Holder, picks him out! He was close in the last over and this time clips a low catch to short midwicket. Lazy shot by someone who has shown some technique with the bat. Well bowled by Harmer who drew him in with a full delivery and Amla stood in exactly the right spot. 213/7
76.5 to JE Taylor, oh dear, oh dear! I'm afraid that's awful cricket from Taylor. He has Chanderpaul at the other end but decides to try and pick this up from outside off and slogs it down the throat of deep midwicket waiting for exactly that. 213/8

2.3 to AN Petersen, done him! Something for West Indies to take with him. Petersen plays back again, the ball skids on and beats the inside edge to rattle the stumps.. 9/1
22.5 to F du Plessis, unplayable ball! This leaps off a good length, takes the shoulder of du Plessis' bat as he plays forward - which he was perfectly entitled to to that length, it loops over second slip who runs back to catch it but then collides with backward point who was running in. Think everyone is okay, and importantly the ball didn't pop out. 51/2
